Play, Spirit and Character

Stuart Brown, the founder and president of the National Institute for Play near Monterey California talks to Krista Tippett about "Play, Spirit and Character".  He explains that as children, we learn empathy, trust, irony and problem solving through play. He argues that it is an indispensable part of being human and that the rough-and-tumble play of children actually prevents violent behaviour.
